EDTA Tetrasodium Salts
CAS # 64-02-8

EDTA Tetrasodium Salt is the fully neutralized sodium salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, widely used as a chelating agent in industrial, cosmetic, and cleaning applications. It typically appears as a white crystalline powder or granules, highly soluble in water, and forms stable complexes with metal ions such as Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺, Fe²⁺, and Cu²⁺.
EDTA tetrasodium salt is especially effective in alkaline formulations, where it maintains solubility and chelation efficiency. It’s commonly used in detergents, personal care products, water treatment, and industrial cleaners to prevent metal-catalyzed reactions, improve product stability, and enhance cleaning performance. In cosmetics, it stabilizes formulations by binding trace metals that could degrade active ingredients.
