Diuron is a white crystalline solid anti-algal agent from the urea class having the molecular formula C₉H₁₀Cl₂N₂O and a molecular weight of 233.09 g/mol. It is used in pre & post-emergent herbicides for controlling weeds, and as an algicide in ponds & aquariums. Diuron is a well-known Dry-film preservatives for water-based paints. Diuron helps to increases life & durability of the dry-film helping to provide extended warranties on exterior paints.
